How the alerts work under the hood

Alerts are stored server-side, keyed by your webhook URL, and checked on every price scan — roughly every 5 minutes, the same cadence as the OSRS Wiki real-time price feed this site runs on. An alert fires when the item's current instant-buy price crosses your threshold ("below" for buy targets, "above" for sell targets). When it fires you get a Discord message with the live price and a link to the item's page. A one-shot alert deletes itself after firing; a repeat alert re-arms with a 2-hour cooldown, so a price oscillating around your threshold can't flood the channel. Each webhook can hold up to 25 alerts.

Why you bring your own webhook

A Discord webhook is a post-only URL you create in your own server in a few clicks — no bot to invite, no account here, no OAuth. The URL itself is the credential: anyone who has it can post to that channel (and manage the alerts attached to it), so treat it like a password. You can revoke it at any time in Discord under Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks — deleting the webhook instantly kills every alert pointed at it. Alert ideas that actually help a flipper

• Dip buying: set "below" alerts a few percent under the usual price of items you already flip — when an update dump or crash prints (movers shows what's falling), you'll know within one scan.
• Exit targets: holding stock you've logged in the position tracker? Set an "above" alert at your sell price instead of watching the chart in the terminal.
• Restock lines: repeat alerts on consumables you flip on a rhythm (potions, runes, ammo) — remember the GE's 4-hour buy limits still cap how much you can act on each ping.

FAQ

• Does it work with the tab closed? Yes — the check runs on the server, not in your browser. The browser only remembers your webhook locally, for convenience.
• How fast is it? Worst case about one scan cycle (~5 minutes) plus Discord delivery, which is near-instant.
• Which price triggers it? The instant-buy (high) price — the same number the item pages and the flip finder quote as what buyers pay right now.
• What do you store? Only the webhook URL and the alerts on it — no account, no email. Remove an alert here, or delete the webhook in Discord to wipe everything at once.
