The GE Terminal is a market screen for the Grand Exchange, running on the OSRS Wiki real-time prices API (crowdsourced from RuneLite clients). Type an item name in the command bar and press Enter to open its panel: the instant-buy price (what buyers are paying right now), the instant-sell price (what sellers are getting), the raw spread, and the post-tax margin — buy at instant-sell, sell at instant-buy, minus the 2% GE tax. The tax is rounded down, capped at 5,000,000 gp per item, and doesn't apply to items that sell under 50 gp (a handful of items, like Old school bonds, are always exempt).
The stat grid adds the 4-hour buy limit, traded volume over the last hour and 24 hours, the 24-hour average buy/sell prices, the item's High Alchemy value, and the alch profit after the live nature rune cost. The scrolling tape and the right-hand rail track the biggest gainers, losers and volume leaders, and the Top Flips panel ranks the best post-tax margins from the same screen the flip finder uses. Everything refreshes about every 30 seconds while the tab is open.
The GE publishes no true open/high/low/close — only the average instant-buy and instant-sell per 5-minute, 1-hour, 6-hour or 24-hour bucket, plus volumes. The terminal reconstructs candles honestly from that: each candle's body runs from the previous bucket's mid-price to the current bucket's mid-price, the wicks cover the bucket's average buy/sell band, and the bars underneath are traded volume. Toggle Candles / Line and the 5m–24h timestep above the chart. It's a faithful picture of direction and range, not invented precision.
Margin is what's left after tax — that's the number that matters, not the spread. Check volume on both sides: a wide margin on an item that barely trades won't fill. The 4-hour buy limit caps your throughput — margin × limit is the most one account clears per limit window. And compare the current price to the 24-hour average: buying into a falling item means your sell target may be gone before your buy fills. For a ranked list instead of a per-item screen, the flip finder does the screening for you; movers flags crashes and spikes, the position tracker answers "hold or sell?" for flips you already made, Discord alerts ping you at a target price, and the gear finder ranks the upgrades your profits can buy.
